How long do the H Dupont silk dyes last in my Studio?
Are you wondering about the shelf life of H Dupont silk dyes?
I received this question via email from Chantelle, and I am pleased to say the answer is very good news indeed!
The first step was to contact the manufacturer and their reply is:

“there is no limited shelf-life if the bottle is well closed and stored in a cool and dark place”
That’s fantastic news! It’s so great to hear this from the manufacturers.
Over the years, I have had silk painting Students ask me questions similar to this, because they didn’t want to buy silk dyes which had a short shelf-life. I’ve always been pleased to set them at ease by letting them know I have some brands of French silk dyes in my Studio which I have had for 20 years and more.

Translation: Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was desperate to know the expiration date on the Dupont dyes I’d been saving since 2006, so I could get back to using the technique. And to find out what brand it was, and why my color chart numbers didn’t match.
