Hello and bonjour Silkworm!
It’s been a while, and I’m thrilled to bits to let you know what I’ve been up to – and what I’d love to share with you 🙂
I hope you are having wonderful days thinking about – designing – and perhaps painting on silk! What a wonderful life we enjoy
You’ve been so wonderfully patient after signing up for my new Newsletter, so I guarantee I will send this TODAY!
I’ve been working on soooo many new things, my brain has been like a whirling dervish … a maelstrom of colours, ideas, inspirations – all clamouring for my attention at THE SAME TIME 😀
First thing I’d love to share with you!
I’ll be in Paris in September and October this year! Woohoo! Dates not confirmed yet, but I’m taking the leap for my first flight since COVID. I feel like I’m tentatively dipping my toes in the warm water of adventure, so giving myself plenty of time to plan and let people know I’ll be there. 🙂
- Did you know that I first learned to paint on silk in Paris? And I’m so glad I did! I’ll save that story for another time 😀
I’m planning a Silk Artist Adventure Tour of special places, stores and Art Galleries related to silk painting, and I am sooo excited to share this with like-minded souls! I hope to be there 5-6 weeks, so will be scheduling two dates (around the other Adventures I’ll be hosting).
I have wonderful silk artist friends who might be in Paris at the same time, and it would be fantastic to meet up with them!
- If this sounds interesting, please do reply to this email as I haven’t set up a page for it yet on my website 🙂

Second thing I’d love to share with you!
For the first of my new Small Silk Painting Adventures, I’ve designed an online Training Course which will take 15 days:
- NO artistic skill required! If you can hold a paintbrush and like to have fun, you’re all set!
- I will send an email each day for 14 days with the Theme, tips and suggestions for that day’s small silk painting, with a video tutorial showing what I’ve created, and hoping to inspire you for your own paintings 🙂
- on the 15th day, I’ll provide a video tutorial showing what we’re going to do with the fabulous mini silk paintings, and I’m sure you’ll be surprised!
- basic equipment is all that will be needed – Habotai silk (best for beginners), soft paintbrushes, silk dye (no steaming required), frame of some sort (if you don’t have a frame I’ll share some ideas which might surprise and delight you!)
- I’m just finishing off the webpage for this one, so will send you the link in the next 48 hours – I’m so looking forward to sharing this with you, I hope we’ll have a lot of fun!

Third thing I’d love to share with you!
I’ve finally found a company I’m happy with who can print spiral-bound books, notebooks and journals etc, so when I showed my first one to my student Sandrine recently, she was very excited and asked if she could buy one with her name on it. Of course I said yes!
What do you think? Would you use a journal / notebook like this?
- size is A5 / 5.8″ x 8.3″ / 14.8 x 21.0cm
- lined or blank pages
- spiral binding means the books can lay flat when open, perfect for left and right-hand writers
- 3 covers to choose from as shown
If you’d like your name (or a friend etc), these are the options:
- 3 name background options: black, green, none
- 2 name font styles: Jean-Luc (Sans Serif), Sandrine (Serif)
I’m just adding new images to the webpage for these, so will send you the link in the next 48 hours with the Courses’ link – if you have any ideas about these, please do let me know!

Another new Course which is on the drawing board!
I’m not sure how long you’ve known me, but for quite a few years I’ve loved having my designs printed on items like coffee mugs, cards, cushion covers and t-shirts, etc.
This is a great way for artists to start a new small revenue stream, so I’d like to teach silk artists how to do this like I do – step-by-step. If this interests you, please do send me an email and let me know by replying to this Newsletter 🙂
▼ Yes I’m interested in learning how to turn my art into products!
Before I forget, I published a Silk Artist Magazine and was so proud! I was hoping to publish more but a few of life’s challenges got in the way. To check out the first one, pop over here:
That’s enough to get your brains into silk painting mode for today, I do hope you’re well and happy and loving life
I’ll be back in touch with the new links in the next 48 hours – woohoo! Can’t wait!
Ciao ciao for now,
Teena!
